One of the easiest ways to detect most modern Panerai replicas is
the short cannon pinion, or the pin that holds the hands to the
watch. The cannon pinion on many replicas is too short, leaving a
noticeable indentation where the hands attach to the movement. In
this article Ziggyzumba details this flaw, as well as shows how it has
been rectified. Note that this is a expert-level task, and that
any replica with this modification done may also be missing other
corrected flaws.
Do you suffer from the debilitating condition know as "Short Shaft PAM
Syndrome", also known as "Short Hands and Outwardly Obvious Tubes",
SHOOT for short (no pun intended).
Well finally there is a solution, and not only am I the President of SHOOT, I am also a member.
Look what the nice postman delivered to the house today, can you guess what's in these little containers!

So
have you guessed what these are??? If so, then there's probably no
reason for me to go any further!.thanks for looking and have a nice day!
Just kidding.
Here's
the basic issue, the cannon and hour wheels on the PAM's are too short,
causing a big hole in the center of the hour hand, hands at angles to
clear the running seconds, and just a bad arrangement - in an otherwise
nice watch.
Here's an example:

This
shows the real issue, look at the hour wheel post, it's level with the
dial face; it should be above the dial face, not flush with it!

So what's a fellow (or gal, as it's not gender specific) to do??
Well replace the faulty parts with longer correct ones of course.
