Recently there has been an increased interest in counterfeiting a number of brands that have been immune up until this point. Graham is a perfect example of this trend. Its models and designs don't fit into the typical replica watch categories, but there must have been sufficient interest because two different models (Swordfish and Chronofighter) have been replicated by one of the better replica manufacturers.
 Genuine Swordfish on the Left
The above photo is a direct comparison between a genuine Swordfish (left) and a replica one (right). Visually there is very little difference between the two watches. In handling both watches they appear to have the same weight and even the same quality of PVD coating.
 Genuine Swordfish
Above, the genuine watch, seems to even have a poorer quality of dial. The luminescent material on the dial is not as consistent as the quality of the replica Graham Swordfish (below). Both are powered by a derivative of the ETA 7750. In the case of the replica Graham it is a modified Asian copy of the watch movement.
The replica watch even has accurately duplicated the subdial secondary hands, and they are functional as the original. The crystal on the replica seems to be equal to the genuine watch, even having an anti-reflective coating.

Conclusion
The replica Graham Swordfish is one of the most accurate replica watches I've seen to date. The quality of the material and the accuracy of the replication is impressive, apparently in some instances even better than the genuine! Holding both it is very difficult to tell them apart. I would be very careful in purchasing a Graham Swordfish or Graham Chronofighter. Authorized dealers are the best bet to guarantee authenticity. Opening the case to display the movement is another way to tell the two watches apart. |
