Breitling fakes have traditionally been easy to spot. Most of these examples are simple to spot as a replica when examined next to the genuine article. More recently some Breitling fakes have improved substantially in quality and materials. Navitimers and Chrono Avengers in particular have had some more credible fakes show up in recent memory.

Replicas of Cartier watches have several outstanding flaws that have persisted for years. The most obvious flaw is the use of "electric blue" hands instead of the more subtle "blued-steel" hands that Cartier uses. This makes spotting most Cartier fakes fairly easy. If the hands are a bright blue then it's probably a replica.

Omega is a brand that is as well-known as Rolex.  It also has been replicated nearly as often as that other famous make.  Omega replicas come in varying levels of quality depending on the price range.  Cheaper Chinese copies are easy to spot, using poor metals and mineral glass for crystals.  Look at the dial printing to aid in detection.

Higher-end fakes are more accurate, such as the Swiss ETA-based replicas that use higher quality materials, including synthetic sapphire crystals.  These top-end replica Omega watches are much more difficult to spot mainly because of the increase in the quality of materials used in their manufacturer.

Panerai fakes have flooded the market in the last two years. Currently there is more activity with copying this brand than any other with the exception of Rolex. These comparison shots are of earlier fakes. We'll be posting later shots of some of the newer more accurate replicas. The high-end Panerai fakes are difficult to spot if you're not familiar with the brand. Careful research is important if you're shopping on the second-hand market.
