Omega is a brand that is as well-known as Rolex.  It also has been replicated nearly as often as that other famous make.  Omega replicas come in varying levels of quality depending on the price range.  Cheaper Chinese copies are easy to spot, using poor metals and mineral glass for crystals.  Look at the dial printing to aid in detection.

Higher-end fakes are more accurate, such as the Swiss ETA-based replicas that use higher quality materials, including synthetic sapphire crystals.  These top-end replica Omega watches are much more difficult to spot mainly because of the increase in the quality of materials used in their manufacturer.

There are variations of this replica Omega Constellation in pretty much every form that the genuine watch is available in: solid gold, two-tone, and even ladies examples. The replicas can range in quality; the cheaper ones are easy to spot because of the poor materials and craftsmanship. The high-end models are much more difficult to spot since they use ETA movements, sometimes even decorated as the genuine movement. Still as always the genuine's materials and quality stands out from any of the fakes.

Omega Planet Oceans have been subject to copies since it was released last year. Fake Omega watches are quite common, usually in poorer quality examples. This was the case with replica Planet Oceans until recently. The newest example (seen here) fixes a variety of flaws seen in earlier fakes. The gas release valve is properly labeled with "He" on this example, while earlier fakes have an incorrect Omega logo.

Other common flaws include incorrect stamped case backs and more common, missing "Planet Ocean" name on the clasp. This particular fake Omega Planet Ocean has these flaws corrected. This particular watch has another glaring flaw common to fake Omegas: it uses a date wheel that has Rolex's font instead of the one Omega uses. It may not be noticable on all dates, but examine the "4s", "6s", and "9s" and their similarity to Rolex watches.

Overall the quality of Planet Ocean replicas have been improving over the past year, but common flaws seem to always be evident.

Replica Omega Seamasters are relatively common.  They come in a variety of grades, from poor Asian trash, to high quality ETA-based models.  With Omegas it pays to know what you're looking for.  Many fake Omegas have inaccurate backs or dials.  They may 'look' good, but any Omega buff would spot these flaws early.

The photos below are of a high-end Omega replica. The Seamaster "007" is a limited edition piece which has been replicated with a wide range of quality. This is one of the best we've seen.

With replica Omegas usually the build quality is a good giveaway when trying to spot a replica. Many fake Omegas are made with poor-quality steel, and can be easily detected. Some, like the one below, are the exception. Even the movement is labeled accurately.
