The PAM 192 is a new model for 2005.  It features a case made from a special metal, which the replica makers duplicate by substituting brushed stainless steel.  The photographs below are of a current example of a replica Panerai PAM 192.

Replicas of this model have fixed the misplaced datewheel by using a genuine ETA 7753, but this example has the default ETA date wheel, not the correct date wheel with the font that Panerai uses.  These flaws are typical of the replica industry.

This is an example of a replica made in two different factories, using totally different movements. In one case the manual-wind Lemania-copy (or more correctly, Venus-copy) movement is used. In the other watch an Asian-made clone of the ETA 7750 movement is visible through the exhibition back (note the rotor visible in the second group of photos.

Ok, you know things are bad when you do a Google search for this watch and the first 3 pages are nothing but replicas. Seriously, I had a harder time verifying the existance of this watch than I did finding people selling copies of it. The trade in fake Panerai watches has become an industry all unto itself; the Unitas movement makes it very easy to copy a majority of the Historic line to a great level of accuracy.
